Description
Two varieties of butterflies enjoying the blossoms. The Queen butterfly and the Painted Lady. Such harmony.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Painted Lady is also known as the Thistle Butterfly because of the caterpillars' food preference and also as the Cosmopolitan because it is the most widely distributed butterfly in the world.
The Queen Butterfly is a smaller, darker relative of the Monarch Butterfly. Unlike the monarch, queens do not migrate. In the Sonoran Desert is a permanent resident where the caterpillars feed on various species of milkweed, such as Climbing Milkweed.

Wow, what a great capture, Marcia! Stunning color. Reminds me of a very detail botanical illustration. Excellent.
